The Gallery at The Marmara-Manhattan is pleased to the present of a diverse array of work by Nazim who has been inspired of influenced by his travels between London and New York over the past few years. A powerful imagination is an evident in every aspect of Nazim's work. He creates his own mythological characters that you meet with them in the parks, in the museums and between the ruins.
The eclectic nature of the works on display showcase a response to certain rituals that he has observed within the concepts of myth, mysticism and metaphysics. "Whirling Dervishes", "The Edge", "New York Spiritual" are all examples of works he has composed reflect and celebrate the spirit of these subjects. The painting "Salvage" (After Goya) according to him, "Only could have been conceived after viewing the magnificent painting "The Forge: by Goya which is permanently display in Frick Collection in New York, Another illustration of this transatlantic fusion of ideas can be seen in the work of "Swish-Skater"(Central Park Mystic) creative two weeks before this exhibition and inspired by Nicholas Poussin's " The Triumph of Pan" 1636.
Nazim's work is inspired by the techniques and traditions of the old masters such as Michelangelo Rudin and Rubens. He conducts ongoing research within major resumes and art galleries on two continents including: London's Tate, National Galleries and the British and The Victoria & Albert Museums, Paris's The Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, Musee Rodin, and New York's Metropolitan, Whitney, Guggenheim and Modern Art Museums. His works has been presented by the numerous galleries. For the portrait work he commissioned by famous playwright, director and actor Stephen Berkoff and awarded AIR status by the Florence Trust.
